Hello and welcome to Pedestrian, a monthly newsletter by Alex T. Wolfe about walking and our everyday surroundings.
I’m a little late on the newsletter this month, but it’s for a good reason. I’m happy to announce that Pedestrian 5 is available TODAY!
Issue 5 contents include:
Everyday Carry with Khutso Paynter
”Slow Works” by Inga Danysz
StrangeLove by Julia Brandão
Guardian of the Park: an Interview with Orlando by Emily S. of Purely Circumstantial
Found Jewelry by Catherine Hu
Contact Tracings by Chris Maggio
Levels by Thomas Wilson
Public Baths of New York City by Laura Quan
40% of all sales will go towards GirlTrek, a nonprofit organization for Black women and girls who use walking to inspire healthy living, families, and communities. Active members support local and national policy to increase physical activity through walking, improve access to safe places to walk, protect and reclaim green spaces and improve the walkability and built environment of 50 high-need communities across the U.S.
More to come later this month. In the meantime, stay safe out there.
Thanks for reading,
Alex
Thank you Taylor, Andy, Nick, Ricardo, Sarah, and Cat for making this newsletter possible.
Pedestrian tells stories about the people, routines, and connections we make as a result of moving throughout one’s everyday surroundings. It began as a quarterly magazine in 2018 by Alex T. Wolfe and is occasionally released as a podcast.
If you’ve appreciated Pedestrian in the past, please consider supporting for just $5 a month. In return, you’ll receive a copy of Pedestrian Magazine 5 (out today!), digital copies of Pedestrian Magazine 1–4, and a shout out in an upcoming newsletter.
